The 2010 U.S. Census Center of Population is located near the village of Plato, Missouri. The mean center of population is the point at which an imaginary, flat, weightless and rigid map of the United States would balance perfectly if all 308.7 million inhabitants of identical weight value were placed on it where they live on the date of the census. Berntsen manufactured the 12" stainless steel monument that was set in Plato, Missouri on May 9th, 2011. Brass replicas of the 2010 U.S. Census Center of Population disc are now available. Each 4" keepsake has a brushed finish, felt backing and comes with a wooden display stand.
